Cycling Routes

The only way is up!

The North Pennines is a favourite destination for many North and North East cyclists due to our fantastic network of lanes and quiet roads that stretch right across this Area of Outstanding Natual Beauty.

If you love climbing we have some immense challenges for you.

The Big 4

Killhope Cross, Chapel Fell, Great Dun Fell and Hartside in one 90 mile feast of summit bagging.

Chapel Challenge

The most intense and brutal 50 mile ride there is! 7400ft in 52 miles. Beat it and get your name on the Leader Board at Chatterbox Cafe in St John’s Chapel.

Killhope Killer

Another 50+miler – statistically similar to The Chapel Challenge in terms of ascent / mile but with more smaller hills.

Original Etape Pennines course

In the years prior to it being cancelled the Etape had been getting increasingly easy. This is the original 80 mile course.

Winking Sheep Sportive

With the Etape Pennines being cancelled in 2015 we thought, let’s create our own Sportive. You’re going to love it – actually, that’s a lie!
